What’s new in the neighborhood? We just finished a complete website overhaul at Digital Blacksmiths!
It was a well needed gutting of the site. We had become a tad bit busy over the past year and neglected the cyber version of needing a good paint job. So we spent the last week diving in and revamping the entire site.
There’s still more to come as we finish putting up the trim, but in the meantime, stop on over and let us know what you think!

Angie just posted a video about her experiences using the iPad as a digital caricature artist. Since Saturday’s premiere of both the iPad and Sketchbook Pro for the iPad, she has had a few days to work with the software and the device.
The video is just over 8 minutes and Angie goes into great detail about the various brushes she uses for creating the live digital caricatures, as well as how she gets the files from screen to the client.
Let us know what you think!

Today the iPad was released and folks lined up across the country to get their hands on one for the first time.
I was fortunate enough to draw for several hours at the Lancaster Apple Store this morning, introducing to the world the new genre of caricatures known as iPad Caricatures!
After talking with both the store manager and several employees, we determined that not only was this the first known introduction of an iPad caricature artist, but the folks who were drawn this morning were the first people ever drawn as caricatures on an iPad!
Here they are!

We are very excited to announce iPad Caricatures. For years, Angie Jordan has innovated the field of digital caricatures by bringing her Cintiq digital touch screen to live events. This 21-inch touch display is a huge attraction at events.
However, it is a large screen that requires a computer, cables, power, and setup time at each event. What if there was a device that allowed you to walk in, sit down and start drawing…. digitally?
Enter the iPad.

With the release of the iPad, we are excited to announce iPad Caricatures. Using the most sophisticated and beautiful touch screen available, Angie can draw anywhere a traditional caricature artist can draw (with pen and paper). She can either print them out onsite, email the photos, or upload them for you.
We’ll have more details immediately following Saturday’s release.
